France walked away undefeated in a preparation tournament held in Bordeaux during the first week of June which featured fellow EuroBasket teams Ukraine and Montenegro and defending FIBA Women's AmeriCup winner Canada.

Different performers starred for France in the four-nation tourney. Marine Johannes had 19 points on 3-of-9 three-point shooting and seven rebounds in France's 78-70 win over Ukraine.

The hosts then defeated Canada, 74-65, behind 11 points from Endy Miyem and 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists from veteran guard Celine Dumerc.

In the final day, France picked up a close 66-60 win over Montenegro. Johannes (13 points, 5-of-7 shooting) and Alexia Chartereau (12 points) finished in double-digits. Dumerc dished out eight assists in that game. For the tournament, Dumerc averaged 6.3 dimes per game.

Johannes is one of the players who will make their EuroBasket Women debuts, and if this preparation tournament is any indication, expect her to perform well in the upcoming European championships.

Iva Perovanovic and Milica Jovanovic each scored 17 points for Montenegro in the loss as Angel Robinson only had five points and 10 boards. Robinson notched two double-doubles prior to the France match. She had 17 and 10 in a 67-66 win over Canada, and 20 and 13 in a 72-59 loss to Ukraine.

Canada's lone win in the tournament came via a 76-59 trashing of Ukraine in a game where Katherine Plouffe had 12 points and nine rebounds.

For the tournament, Plouffe averaged 11.7 PPG and 7.1 RPG. Another Canadian who stood out throughout the games was Jamie Scott, who dropped double-digits in two out of the three contests off the bench.

It has been a different look for Canada since the retirements of Olympians Tamara Tatham, Lizanne Murphy, and Shona Thorburn, but it is an encouraging sign to see others take charge for Lisa Thomaidis.

Ukraine was led by Alina Iagupova, who averaged 18.7 PPG.
