Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi scored lay-up with 45.3 seconds left in the first half of the Mercury's road game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday to pass Tina Thompson as the all-time leading scorer of the WNBA.

Taurasi increased her total to 7,489 points after the basket, effectively passing Thompson' 7,488.

The game was watched by a handful of personalities, including Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. Bryant later said in a interview with Holly Rowe that watching Taurasi is like looking at himself in the mirror in some ways.

Earlier this season, Taurasi passed Katie Smith as the all-time three-point field goals leader. With another milestone in her bag, Taurasi is continuing to cementing her status as the greatest women's basketball player of all time.
