Highlights: Los Angeles Sparks win 2016 WNBA title

At long last, Candace Parker can finally call herself a WNBA champion. The Los Angeles Sparks out-dueled in the Minnesota Lynx in an exciting season finale which saw the Sparks win the title after a 77-76 Game 5 victory.

Parker led the Sparks with 28 points on 12-for-22 shooting, 12 rebounds, and three steals to clinch the Finals MVP award as well. It was the first title for the Sparks since going back to back in the 2001 and 2002 seasons.

Nneka Ogwumike added 12 points and 12 rebounds. She hit the game-winner with 2.1 seconds remaining to lift the Sparks past the Lynx.

Maya Moore also put on an excellent display, finishing with 23 points, six rebounds, and 11 assists. Seimone Augustus added 17 points while Sylvia Fowles had 10 points and 10 boards.

One of the most exciting championship games in recent memory, Game 5 of the 2016 WNBA Finals had 24 lead changes and 11 ties. It wasn't until the final buzzer where a champion was known.

Given the new playoff format and the respective teams' cores, it looks like a Lynx-Sparks rivalry will be a big possibility in the foreseeable future.
