Here is the August 12 round-up of the 2016 Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

SERBIA 80, CHINA 72

Ana Dabovic scored 23 points, her highest of the games so far, as first-time Olympian Serbia finally recorded a win in Rio.

Dabovic shot 9-for-13 from inside the arc, and also made all five of her free throw attempts. Sonja Petrovic provided the ample support with 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Serbia had 12 steals in the game, and scored 18 points off turnovers.

Ahead by six, 40-34 at the start of the third quarter, Serbia unleashed an 8-0 run to break the game wide open. The reigning EuroBasket winners outscored China, 26-9 in the third period to pull away and succeed.

Sun Mengran led China with 16 points on 7-for-13 shooting, seven rebounds, and three assists. Four other players scored eight points for the Asian side.

The victory put Serbia on pace for a fourth-place finish in Group B, enough to advance to the quarter-finals. The team has Senegal left in its schedule.

UNITED STATES 81, CANADA 51

Maya Moore had 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists as the United States used an 18-6 second quarter to create separation and beat Canada.

Canada played much better than when the two teams met during USA's slate of exhibition games last month, even taking a slim lead early on.

Canada was down by just 18-16 when the first quarter ended, but Moore proceeded to score eight in a 12-3 run by the reigning gold medal winners to open the second period as USA took a double-digit lead, 30-19.

USA went on to outscore Canada, 42-20 in the middle quarters to cruise to another easy victory. Canada tried to slow down the pace of the game, limiting USA to its lowest output of the games so far. But USA's running game, reflected by a 22-4 disparity in fastbreak points, gave them a lift.

Diana Taurasi also scored 12 points, including 4-for-5 from three-point area. Tina Charles was the only other double-digit scorer with 10 points, while Elena Delle Donne and Brittney Griner both added nine points.

USA shot 52.5 percent from the field, way higher than Canada's 32.8 percent. USA also held a 42-22 lead in points in the paint.

No one finished in double-digits for Canada. Miranda Ayim led Lisa Thomaidis' team with eight points. Nirra Fields contributed seven points, while Katherine Plouffe, Natalie Achonwa, and Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe all finished with six points.

SPAIN 97, SENEGAL 43

Six players finished in double-digits as Spain walked away with a 54-point wire-to-wire victory over Senegal.

Marta Xargay knocked down two triples early on and accounted for eight of Spain's first 14 points as the European squad went on a 14-1 start.

It took Senegal close to five minutes before scoring its first field goal, but Spain went on to take a 26-11 lead at the end of the opening quarter. Spain outscored Senegal by double-figures in each of the four quarters as it improved to 3-1 in Group B, tied with Canada.

Astou Ndour tallied another double-double with 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting and 12 rebounds. Alba Torrens added 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting while three others, including Xargay, finished with 12 points.

Spain shot 56.8 percent from the field, easily the team's best showing in the games so far. The team dominated most statistical categories in the win; Spain assisted 29 of 42 field goal makes, while Senegal only had eight overall. Spain also led in rebounding, 55-26, and fastbreak points, 26-8.

Mame-Marie Sy led Senegal with 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting, while Fatou Dieng contributed eight points.

Spain will face Canada in the last game of the group phase, with the winner placing second in Group B.
