Delle Donne is 2015 WNBA season MVP

Elena Delle Donne was named 2015 WNBA season Most Valuable Player Wednesday.




The Chicago Sky forward received 38 of a possible 39 first-place votes and garnered a total of 385 votes. Minnesota's Maya Moore finished second with 246, while New York's Tina Charles gained 181 votes.

Phoenix's Brittney Griner (70), Los Angeles' Candace Parker (57), and Phoenix's DeWanna Bonner (29) were the next three players in the tally.

Delle Donne, the 2013 Rookie of the Year, won the MVP plum in her third season, racking up a league-high 23.4 points including a WNBA-best 95 percent from the free throw line.

Her prowess from the charity stripe included a stretch of 54 consecutive free throws made. Aside from that, she led the league in win shares and Player Efficiency Rating (PER).

Delle Donne's season included a career-high 45 points against the Atlanta Dream last June.
